I grew up in a small town on the Oregon Coast. I earned my B.A. in English from the University of Oregon, with a minor in creative writing. After graduating, I moved to New York City where I started as a media editor at Macmillan Learning.
It was here that I dove headfirst into SEO, copywriting, and content strategy. I started freelance writing in 2018 and primarily worked with media, B2C, and travel companies. I took online courses in my spare time to refine my skills as a writer and marketer.
After 2.5 years in NYC, I left and spent the next eight months traveling. I traveled through countries across the entire globe. At the same time, I built my freelance writing network. I landed in Portland, Oregon in early 2020, where I’ve been ever since.
In the years since I first started writing, I’ve learned that I love researching a new tool, topic, or industry. I love getting to know a new audience and creating a piece of content that connects with them. All these interests nudged me toward content marketing.
I’ve worked both on in-house content teams and as a freelancer. Freelance writing grants me the opportunity to work with lots of different types of innovative companies that are doing very cool work. I get to learn new things all the time and collaborate with brilliant people.
When not writing for work, I’m most likely tending to my extensive collection of indoor plants, reading, writing (it never stops), exploring the Pacific Northwest, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. I’m the proud mom of two cats and a pup (pictured here). Together they ensure my days are always a little chaotic.
